Appeal for Ilaria Salis from past and present students of Liceo Zucchi.
The appeal below is the result of a group of former students of Liceo Zucchi, in solidarity and calling for the release of Ilaria Salis, an ex-student of Liceo Zucchi. It is open for signature by former or current students of Zucchi who share its spirit and objectives.
Ilaria Salis, one of us.
We are a diverse group of individuals united by our association, at different times, with the academic, educational, and political community of Liceo Zucchi in Monza. With Ilaria, we shared spaces, thoughts, fears, and the impulses of our high school years, and like Ilaria, we all took our first steps towards an awareness of active citizenship, participation, and civic responsibility within the classrooms of that school.
Ilaria is one of us. As former students of Liceo Zucchi, we express our concern for the detention conditions to which she is subjected. We hope for her prompt return to Italy, where the guarantees of the rule of law will be justly applied to her as well, and we stand in solidarity with the Salis family.
